As B+A Architecture’s architectural designer, Surabhi Khanderia has brought a unique energy and vision to the team. Surabhi has been involved with B+A Architecture since taking up a design internship back in 2016. Her expertise lies in high efficiency building systems and carbon-neutral architectural designs, with a focus on conducting whole building life cycle assessments.
Surabhi qualified as a licensed architect in India and holds a LEED Green Associate Credential. She has a Bachelor’s in Architecture from CEPT University, India and a Master’s in Sustainable Design from Jefferson University, Philadelphia. While there, she was awarded membership of the Tao Sigma Delta honorary society, Philadelphia Chapter for her high scholastic standing.
Surabhi has been a delegate at I-LEAD 2016, organized by US Dept. of State, and has completed an internship with Walt Disney Imagineering as a Sustainable Design and Engineering Intern. She also authored Impacts of Building Circularity on Carbon Emissions: A Statistical Life Cycle Assessment of a Greenhouse.
Through her pro-bono work in India for rural communities, Surabhi developed a keen desire to make a difference. Having seen that it was always a certain section of society that suffered as a result of environmental issues, Surabhi is driven to deliver environmentally responsible design. She has also been highly influenced by the work of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
Surabhi’s philosophy centers around kindness and making others happy. The best part of her job is seeing clients smile as a result of her designs. She values each and every project through the client’s eyes, seeing it not as just another building but as their individual dream. She uses her knowledge of passive, high-efficiency design to deliver outstanding results, with the goal of delighting each and every client.
