Our Founder's Story
Dennis Bradley's story began in Atchison, Kansas. His parents taught him the importance of hard work and tenacity from an early age, which is evident in his career. During his early years, his passion for architecture grew, eventually leading him to Kansas State University.
Dennis was not only a brilliant architect but also a patriot. Dennis served in the United States Army as a military topographical surveyor. He was stationed in Germany for two years during the Vietnam War. He then held the record for accuracy and speed regarding specific surveying tests. Dennis frequently referenced his time in Munich and how it fueled his desire for travel.
Returning to his Midwest roots, Dennis became a licensed architect in Kansas, and then Missouri. Over the years, he worked for prestigious firms such as Marshall and Brown, HNTB, Mantel and Teter, and BNIM. In addition to B+A Architecture, Dennis also founded the partnership firms Bradley + Holton Architects, and Group One Architects with Donald Gardner. His portfolio boasts of numerous notable projects, including the 10th Street Bridge in Phoenix, the Jewish Community Center in Overland Park, the Animal Hospital at the Kansas City Zoo, the rehabilitation of the 18th & Vine District Gem Theatre, and a train depot for Walt Disney's hometown in Marceline, MO. Dennis's architectural prowess also took him to international projects in Iraq, Montevideo, Uruguay, India, and Sudan, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.
Dennis's love for life was as vibrant as his architectural designs. He founded B+A Architecture in 1995 and continued to build his legacy in Kansas City. Dennis was a passionate and dedicated professional, often found lingering at the office nights and weekends. He even jokingly referred to himself as 'married to his business '. But Dennis was about more than just work. He had an adventurous spirit, a passion for travel, and a love of life that was truly contagious. He relished trying new restaurants and bringing people together, always finding joy in life's simple pleasures.
With his visionary leadership, he built our current cohesive team of architectural professionals. Dennis's hand-selected team remains dedicated to fulfilling his vision for the firm.
